The helicopters of the border police have managed to extinguish the fire that broke out over about 2 hectares of forest lands on a mountain in Georgia’s western region of Svaneti.

The helicopter firefighters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs participate in the fire-rescue operation.

Local Governor Kaha Zhorzholiani said as the fire has started in the difficult section of the mountains, it takes much more time and effort for the rescuers to extinguish.

So far the cause of the fire is not known, however locals say it should be high temperature or negligence.
