Less money is coming into Georgia from abroad.
The sum of money transfers coming into Georgia in March 2016 was 1.3 percent less year-on-year (y/y), official figures reveal.
Today National Bank of Georgia (NBG) published remittance figures, which showed the sum of money transfers from abroad constituted $90.7 million USD in March 2016. This was $1.2 million USD less than in March 2015.
NBG said 89.4 percent of the total money transfers from abroad came from 11 largest donor countries, with the volume of transfers from of these countries each exceeding $1 million USD in March 2016.
Meanwhile, in March 2015 the share of these 11 countries constituted 89.6 percent of the total money transfers.
Last month $16.6 million USD was transferred from Georgia, as compared to $15 million USD in March 2015.
