Air travellers onboard Kazakhstan’s national airline are able to sample Georgian wines.

Air Astana is offering Georgian drinks to its passengers as part of Georgian Wine Week, currently being held at the airline’s newly opened VIP Hall at Astana’s International Airport.

Georgian Wine Week, running from March 18 to 23, served the goal of promoting Georgia as a tourist destination to travellers.

Georgia’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zurab Pataridze spoke at a special Georgian Wine Week event about Georgia’s ancient wine-making traditions, which are inscribed in UNESCO’s list of Cultural Heritage.

The campaign was deemed successful and believed to have increased the awareness and popularity of Georgia among tourists in Central Asia.
