Using Georgia to transit electricity between other countries in the region is a "historic event in Georgia’s energy sector”.
The Georgian State Electrosystem today announced Georgia would earn 1 million GEL ($401,735 USD or €359,169*) per month for being an energy corridor that transferred power between Russia and Armenia, and Azerbaijan and Turkey.

From February 5, 2016 electricity was being transferred from Russia to Armenia, via Georgia. In a 24-hour period about 30 MW of power could pass through Georgia in this direction.
Meanwhile yesterday, February 7, Georgia started to transfer power from Azerbaijan to Turkey. In a 24-hour period up to 80 MW of electricity could be transferred through Georgia to its destination.
Each month Georgia will earn approximately 1 million GEL ($401,735 USD or €359,169*) through these two transit corridors, said the Georgian State Electrosystem.
