An electrical substation in Georgia’s Imereti region has been completely rehabilitated to protect the electricity supply for people living in different parts of the region.

The most important project for Georgia’s energy sector, the reconstruction of 220 kV and a transmission line existing in parallel to the 500 kV transmission line Imereti has been successfully completed”, announced the Georgian State Electrosystem today.

Within the project several transmission lines were reconstructed, while several new ones were built.

A new energy chain was created between substations Kutaisi – 220 and Zestaponi – 500 which will be able to reserve 80-90 percent of electricity in case the 500 kV transmission line Imereti is off,” said the Georgian State Electrosystem.
