PM: Support from the Netherlands is important for Georgia’s visa liberalisation

Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikahsvili has today met Ambassador of the Netherlands to Georgia Johannes Douma to discuss Georgia’s visa liberalisation prospects with the European Union (EU). 

The Georgian Government’s press service said the Netherlands support for Georgia as it progressed towards visa liberalisation was of utmost importance as the country currently was the chair state of the EU Council. 

The Georgian PM stressed "the Netherlands is a very important country for Georgia to successfully carry out visa liberalisation.”

The two officials today discussed common priority areas and directions where bilateral cooperation could be enhanced. The innovation sector was an area both sides said would benefit if the two countries worked together.

The EU Council, together with the European Parliament, is the main decision-making body of the EU.
