Central Election Commission releases preliminary data after counting 22% of nationwide votes

The Central Election Commission (CEC) - the supreme body of the Election Administration of Georgia - has released the first preliminary results for the Parliamentary Elections 2016.

As of now, results from 814 polling stations nationwide have been are counted, which is 22 percent of the total number of election stations in the country.

The first preliminary results show only two political parties have overcome the 5 percent threshold:

  • Georgian Dream – 52.67%
  • UNM – 28.85%

Other parties’ results are:

  • Alliance of Patriots – 4.66%
  • Irakli Alasania - Free Democrats – 3.45%
  • Labour Party – 2.82%
