For the first time in the 25-year history of independent Georgia, the Central Election Commission (CEC) is broadcasting live footage of election votes being counted.
Below is live footage from a special room at the CEC headquarters in Tbilisi where the final vote counting is taking place.
The aim of the idea is for the public to see the transparency of the vote counting process,” CEC head Tamar Zhvania told local media.
22% of the votes have been counted and the first preliminary results have been announced by the Central Election Commission.

Latest preliminary nationwide results show two leading parties, but possibly the most interesting data is on the third party, which is currently on the edge to overcome the 5 percent threshold for entering Parliament.
