Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister comes to Georgia

Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov is coming to Georgia for an official visit today.
Both sides said the visit had high importance due to the strategic and friendly relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Within his visit Mammadyarov will meet his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili.
The sides will discuss a wide range of topics including cooperation in the areas of politics, trade and economy, energy and culture.
In capital Tbilisi the Azerbaijani official will also visit the memorial of fallen heroes who died serving Georgia’s territorial integrity before placing a wreath at the memorial of Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Georgia attracted $1.564 billion in Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in 2015.
Azerbaijan is offering a helping hand to its neighbour and friend country Georgia during the busy summer harvest season.
Prime Minister of Azerbaijani Artur Rasizade is in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi today to meet with high officials and discuss the close partnership the two nations enjoy.
Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan will conduct joint military exercises in Georgia in spring 2017. The news was announced after the Defence Ministers of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey held a trilateral meeting in the Azerbaijani city of Gabala yesterday.
Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili will visit Baku, Azerbaijan "in the coming days”. Kvirikashvili announced his impending trip to the neighbouring nation a short time ago after meeting Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister.
The top officials from Georgia and Azerbaijan are pledging to spare no effort to support and strengthen their "neighbourly relations” which have "truly strategic character”.
