Three opposition political parties are joining forces to win over voters and become better positioned for the October 8 Parliamentary Elections in Georgia.
After a month of intense consultations, political parties Girchi, Civic Platform–New Georgia and New Rights announced they would unite to set up a new political bloc.
The name of the coalition is New Choice.
Leaders of the three political parties said the three parties individually had the same outlook and uniting would attract more voters than if the parties challenged in the upcoming elections independently.
We have a common economic vision, a pro-Western course with innovative ideas and common plans and values. That was the basis for our unification,” said Civic Platform–New Georgia party leader Giorgi Vashadze.
Today the new political force was presented by the leaders of the three opposition parties: Giorgi Vashade from Civic Platform–New Georgia, Zurab Japaridze from Girchi and Mamuka Katsitadze from New Rights.
Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) said 14 parties had addressed the agency to undergo mandatory registration for the upcoming October Parliamentary Elections.
There are 64 days left before Georgian citizens can vote for who they want to run the country.
Currently the Georgian Dream coalition runs the Government and has done so for the past four years since overcoming United National Movement in 2012.
