Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili is starting a campaign to encourage the citizens of Georgia to go and vote in the October 8 Parliamentary Elections.

The President's campaign launched today and it involved encouraging all citizens to have their voices heard and vote for who they want in power.

Margvelashvili explained the campaign will not promote any specific party but will try to raise awareness of the importance of participating in the elections and the power of every single vote.

I am launching a campaign focused on making voters active. It will not support a single political party. It will be a campaign of young people and we will try to encourage voters to go to the polls,” said Margvelashvili.
Apparently, the most passive voters are those aged 18-35 and we will target this section of society,” he added.

In general the President positively assessed the 2016 election environment and said it was not comparable with the 2012 election environment.

There are 59 days left before Georgian citizens can vote for who they want to run the country.
