Hualing Group builds elevator factory in western Georgia

An elevator manufacturing factory will soon open in Georgia’s second largest city, Kutaisi.

Chinese company Hualing Group will make a significant investment in the construction of the factory.

Georgian officials said this project would give job opportunities to the local population.

Kutaisi Mayor Shota Murgulia said Georgia was also negotiating four other major projects with the Chinese firm.

Last year Hualing Group established a Hualing Free Industrial Zone in Kutaisi.

"Due to the attractive investment and business environment, strategic geographical position, easy accessibility to the regional and European markets and other various competitive advantages of the country of Georgia, Hualing Group made a decision accessibility a Hualing Free Industrial Zone (FIZ) in the second highest populated city of Kutaisi, Georgia on the territory owned by the company,” to said Hualing Group.

Hualing Kutaisi FIZ spans 36 hectares and it represents an important connecting hub between Tbilisispans the country's Black Sea ports of Poti and Batumi.

Hualing Group was given the right to stay at the Kutaisi FIZ for 30 years and was expected to invest at least 40 million GEL during this time.
