A mathematical genius from Georgia has broken the work record for the quickest mental calculation of a complex mathematical equation.

Vladimer Misabishvili, displaced from Georgia’s breakaway Abkhazia region, stunned the world by calculating the answer of the 23rd root of a random 100 digit number in 32 seconds.

This feat was done in his head, without the aid of technology.

The mathematical feat was approved as a world record by the Georgian Records Federation.

The Federation has already sent this result to Guinness World Records for international recognition. The international agency must approve the attempt before confirming Misabishvili has broken the world record.

Several Georgian officials watched on Misabishvili made the impressive calculation.

Georgia’s Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia Sozar Subari was among the audience yesterday when Misabishvili broke the record.

Other people who watched were judges from the Georgian Record Federation, the Georgian Mathematical Union and other invited professors.

Afterwards Minister Subari gave Misabishvili a certificate that recognised his record.

Misabishvili was born in August 1951 in Sokhumi, the capital of [now de facto] Abkhazia.

In 1975 he graduated from the Engineering Faculty of Georgia’s Technical University.

It’s interesting to note, Misabishvili has never worked in the mathematical direction in his life.
