Georgia is promoting its food, wine and other agricultural products at the biggest international expo for agriculture, food, and horticulture.
Georgia’s stand at the International Green Week Berlin 2016 exhibition has been officially opened.
The official opening was attended by Georgia’s Minister of Agriculture Otar Danelia, Georgian Ambassador to Germany Lado Chanturia and other officials.

Fourteen Georgia producers participated in the expo, presenting Georgian-made wine, chacha (Georgian pomace brandy, clear and strong), beer, lemonade, juice, tea, churchkhela (traditional Georgian snack, made from nuts and grape juice), gozinaki (traditional Georgian confection made of caramelised nuts, usually walnuts, fried in honey, and served exclusively on New Year's Eve and Christmas), tklapi (traditional Georgian pureed fruit roll-up leather), tkemali (Georgian sour plum sauce), jam and nuts.
Georgian polyphonic folk songs were performed at the expo.
"It is of great importance to promote Georgian products at the international market following the signature of the Georgia-European Union (EU) Association Agreement,” Georgia’s Agriculture Ministry said.
"Berlin International Exhibition is one of the largest and most prestigious agriculture expos. This year it is attended by 1 600 producers from 56 countries and visited by 4000,000 visitors.”
International Green Week Berlin is an annual event that firs was held in 1926. This year it’s the exhibition’s 90th anniversary.
While in Berlin the Georgian Agriculture Minister will attend a ministerial event then holding bilateral meeting with his German, Austrian, Latvian, Estonian and Moldovan counterparts.
