Georgia-United Arab Emirates seek to deepen relations

"The new Silk Road will create lots of opportunities for Georgia and transform the country into an international trade hub,” said his Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan from the United Arab Emirates after meeting Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
Nahayan was one of the distinguished guests at the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.
The Georgian Prime Minister hosted the UAE official at the Government Administration this afternoon on day one of the Silk Road Forum.
At the meeting the two officials spoke about the potential of the new Silk Road and outlined the prospects for deepening cooperation between the two countries.
This Forum is a very important event. The new Silk Road concept will completely transform the region and promote economic development. Georgia has a good location that will help the country play an important role as a regional hub,” said Nahayan.
The UAE official said his meeting with Georgia’s Prime Minister was "very fruitful” and expressed hope relations between Georgia and the UAE would continue to strengthen.
Hundreds of high-ranking officials and business leaders from all over the world will gather in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi next week to attend the Silk Road Forum.
