President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has pardoned 152 inmates today.
Head of the Pardon Commission Zviad Koridze announced 14 women and eight youth were among the pardoned inmates.
Of the 152 prisoners, 103 will walk free from prison today while the remaining 49 will enjoy reduced sentences.
Koridze said the Pardon Commission studied each case and offered recommendations to President Margvelashvili concerning inmates who had not committed grave crimes and those who had shown good behaviour while in prison.
The last Commission meeting was held on September 28-30 in Tbilisi, where 910 cases were discussed.
