"The Georgian Army is one of the best in the world."
These were the words of NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow when he addressed a crowd at the Vaziani military base after he attended a demonstrative training of the Georgian Armed Forces at the facility today.
Ambassador Vershbow praised Georgian troops and noted they were doing "a great job" in Afghanistan.
"I am impressed with the training that the Georgian Armed Forces are conducting in Vaziani. Their professional skills are fascinating," he said.
"This is a very impressive event and once again it has confirmed what I often hear from NATO and American Commanders, that Georgian troops are among the best. This Army has a big potential in the future,” he said.

Vershbow said this year international experts would come to Georgia to determine the location of the NATO-Georgia training centre.
"This will be one of the joint training centres that NATO will create together with Georgia in the coming months. The experts will arrive next month,” he noted.
Georgia's Minister of Defence Mindia Janelidze, who also attended the demonstrative training, said the Vaziani military base had been discussed as one of the locations for the NATO training centre.
