One of China’s leading engineering firms is expressing its interest to invest in Georgia’s gas and energy sectors.

China Tianchen Engineering Corporation (TCC) representatives met with Government and industry officials today to discuss their vision for developing Georgia’s gas and energy capabilities.

The Chinese side met with Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze and other Government officials, together with Georgia’s Gas and Oil Corporation (GGOC) representatives, who voiced their idea to construct an underground gas storage building and combined Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in Georgia.

The Chinese side mentioned it was ready to carry out the two projects with the GGOC, which was tasked with ensuring the country’s energy security, noted the Government’s official webpage.

Since launching in 1953 TCC has become one of China’s most influential engineering-industrial corporations.

The Tianchen-based company noted its annual financial assets meet more than $1 billion USD and the corporation covered more than 30 foreign countries within its projects.

TCC noted it had vast experience successfully constructing underground gas storages and TPPs in many countries.
