Tbilisi Zoo is celebrating the birth of three newborn tiger cubs.
A tiger named Salima gave birth to three tiger cubs. It is not known what gender the cubs are.
The first-time mother and her triplet babies were "all feeling fine and healthy”, Zoo administration staff said.
"The cubes are suckling and crawling actively on the mother’s back,” Zoo staff said.
Salima gave birth to the cubs in her cage but Zoo visitors are unable to see the newborn cubs as the mother tiger keeps her babies protected and hidden inside her shelter.
"It’s up to her when to bring the cubs out,” Zoo staff said.
In recent months, Tbilisi Zoo has welcomed numerous newborn animals. Cleopatra, the white lion, gave birth to four rare white lion cubs in December. In November, the white tiger named Cameron gave birth to three baby tigers. See all newcomers of Tbilisi Zoo "In pictures."
In January, a Green Python Morelia Viridis, also known as a Dragon-like green snake was welcomed to Tbilisi Zoo, following the birth of a zebra foal a week earlier.
