Spanish sports media on Tuesday hailed two “spectacular saves” of Valencia’s Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili in the club’s La Liga game against Sevilla.
The daily Diario AS noted Valencia coach Gennaro Gattuso could rely on forward Edinson Cavani and Mamardashvili in ensuring the team have not been beaten in the last five games.
Another Spanish outlet ElDesmarque said the Georgian goalkeeper was “one of the main heroes” of the game with his “excellent” saves.
In his own post-match comments for the fixture that ended 1-1, Gattuso himself also highlighted Mamardashvili had played well.
