Georgian goalkeeper first to be valued at €5 million by online platform

Georgian football player Giorgi Mamardashvili has become the first goalkeeper from the country to be valued at €5 million by Transfermarkt, a reference website for player values from across the world, in the latest update on the website.

Mamardashvili, who plays for Spain's Valencia club, went from under €1 million to the new figure in market value in the update.

The 21-year-old is now second in the top 10 of most expensive Georgian football players, only behind Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who is valued at €16 million.

Mamardashvili was signed by Valencia from Locomotive Tbilisi last year.
