Red flags have been put out on the Black Sea coast in Georgia as a magnitude 3 - 4 storm has hit the coastal regions.

The Emergency Management Service of the Georgian Interior Ministry put up the red flags to warn swimmers that conditions are dangerous.

The Emergency Management Service calls on holiday-makers to follow safety rules.

Swimmers will be allowed back into the water when white flags are put up.

Earlier in August, a 3 – 4 magnitude storm hit the coastal regions and roads were flooded in Batumi, Adjara.

Lifeguards saved a 29-year-old local man from drowning in Makhinjauri, near Batumi during the storm.
