Red flags have been put out on beaches to warn the public against swimming in the dangerous conditions.
The Emergency Management Service calls on holiday-makers to follow safety rules. Swimmers will be allowed back into the water when white flags are put up.
Earlier in August, lifeguards saved a 29-year-old local man from drowning in Makhinjauri, near Batumi during the storm.

Lifeguards have saved a 29-year-old local man from drowning in Makhinjauri, in the Georgian region of Adjara today. The Emergency Management Service reports the man was swimming in the sea during a magnitude 3 storm when a passer-by saw him and called for lifeguards.
Georgian lifeguards have rescued 17 people on the Black Sea coast today – amongst whom were 12 foreign nationals and five minors. A 2-3 magnitude storm was recorded on Ureki beach today. Red flags were put out to inform the people that swimming conditions were dangerous.
For the first time female lifeguards will patrol Georgian coasts this summer to prevent incidents and help those in danger.
