Georgian lifeguards have rescued 17 people on the Black Sea coast today – amongst whom were 12 foreign nationals and five minors.

A 2-3 magnitude storm was recorded on Ureki beach today. Red flags were put out to inform the people that swimming conditions were dangerous.

The Emergency Management Service of the Georgian Interior Ministry calls on holiday-makers:

  •    To follow safety rules
  •     To obey the instructions of lifeguards
  •     Not to leave minors alone
  •     Not to bathe when drunk or hungover
  •     Not to swim beyond safety buoys
  •     Not to bathe when red flags are put out on the beach

The Emergency Management Service reports that when white flags are displayed on the beach people will be allowed to bathe in the sea.
