Georgian sailors have received Certificates of Commendation of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) for “exceptional bravery at sea”.
The award ceremony was held today where Captain Levan Mamaladze and his crew were awarded for their involvement in the rescue operation of mariners in the Arabian Sea south of Oman on June 26. 2017.
Ambassador of Georgia to the UK Tamar Berucashvili congratulated the sailors on receiving the award today via her official Twitter account.

That day a crew of the ship MT Seapower which is owned by Georgian ship management company Queensway Navigation Co. Ltd saved tanker Rama 2 with 13 members on board who were in danger because of the harsh weather conditions, with waves being more than five meters high.
Out of 17-member crew of MT Seapower, 16 were the citizens of Georgia and one – of Ukraine.
Georgian Economy Minister Giorgi Kobulia congratulated today the sailors on receiving the award.
