Interior Ministry announces plans to control borders better

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced plans to control the so-called green-border better, the most problematic parts on the border territory some use to enter or leave the country illegally.
The Interior Ministry says that such areas on the border will be equipped with more cameras.
"The technological development is of the highest importance and our foreign allies are supporting us in the direction,” Deputy Interior Minister Natia Mezvrishvili said.
The official stated that the Interior Ministry border staff will also be retrained and more attention will be paid to the integrated management of borders.

Since 1995 Georgia and Azerbaijan have agreed on 66 per cent of the state border between the two countries, while a special commission composed of state officials from both nations continue work to achieve an agreement on the remaining 34 per cent.
