Georgia’s border police have detained five foreign citizens for illegal crossing the country’s state border.
The Interior Ministry did not identify the detainees but announced they were citizens of Bangladesh.
The five were trying to illegally depart from Georgia to Turkey.
The detainees may have to pay a fine or face 4-5 years in prison.
Police have detained two people for robbing Europebet gambling facility and taking $64,000.

The Georgian Interior Ministry has carried out special police activities to ensure public safety and the protection of law across the country today and yesterday. 36,330 people have been questioned in total, while 71 have been detained.
Georgian law enforcers have detained a man wanted by Interpol since January 2017. Identified as E.Ch., the man was charged in Germany for keeping and selling of drugs.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced plans to control the so-called green-border better, the most problematic parts on the border territory some use to enter or leave the country illegally.
The European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have helped the governments of Georgia and Azerbaijan to raise standards of sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary border control.
