The television broadcasting tower which looks down over Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi from the city’s highest point will soon be renovated, announces Tbilisi City Hall.
The project will add a visitor’s centre and a restaurant with panoramic views of the city and surrounding areas.
The cost of the project is about 10 million GEL.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said that Tbilisi City Hall will cooperate with the business sector of Georgia to involve it in the implementation of the project.
Head of Tbilisi Economic Service Andria Basilaia said that Tbilisi TV tower might be leased for 25 years.
In case of the TV tower, we do not consider alienation as it’s a strategic object and we will lease it. We think about 25-year lease", said Basilaia.
The Tbilisi TV Tower is a free-standing tower structure used for communications purposes. The tower was built in 1972.
