One of Tbilisi’s most popular parks, Mziuri Park, which is also called a city for children, will be restored, announces Tbilisi City Hall.

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze presented the ‘Renovated Mziuri’ project today together with the Minister of Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili.

As announced rehabilitation works will be launched in 2019 and will be completed in 2020.

The project envisages the restoration and arrangement of Mziuri park and the disaster-hit surrounding territory. Mziuri Park was destroyed on June 13, 2015 when a flood swept through the Vere valley. 19 people died at the time, and the lower part of the park suffered a lot of damage.

In addition, rehabilitation and adaptation of amortised buildings located in the park area are also planned.

Also, a puppet museum will be opened there and a new building will be built in Mziuri Park for this reason.

The project also includes exhibition halls, scientific laboratory and an educational centre.
