Georgian Technical University has opened a technical training centre today to improve vocational education through offering modern and labour-market oriented professional programmes for students.

This initiative is financed by the Millennium Challenge Account–Georgia (MCA-Georgia) within the Industry-led Skills and Workforce Development (ISWD) project, which, in turn, is supported through the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s second compact between the governments of Georgia and the United States.

The newly opened centre is capable of accomodating students with special needs.

A total of 4.1 million GEL was allocated from the state budget to finance the renovation of the Georgian Technical University building.

The Minister of Education Mikheil Batiashvili opened the centre today and thanked project contributors BP and MCA-Georgia for developing the project.

The goal of the centre to raise high qualified professionals who will be in demand on the market is very important. The function of the centre is in compliance with the government’s priorities”, said Batiashvili.
