Lithuanian Prime Minister visits Georgia

Lithuanian Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis is paying a two-day visit to Georgia.

Meeting with his Lithuanian colleague at the Government Administration this morning Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said Lithuania is one of the greatest supporters of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

I am glad to be hosting you in Tbilisi. This visit is symbolic because we both celebrate the 100th anniversary of establishing the first democratic republics in our countries. We welcome our high-level political and economic relations and the positive dynamics we share”, PM Kvirikashvili told Skvernelis.

During the face-to-face meeting the two prime ministers discussed deepening cooperation in various fields as well as Georgian reforms on the path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Thanking Kvirikashvili for hosting him, Skvernelis said Lithuania indeed considers Georgia a very strategic partner.

During his visit to Georgia Skvernelis will also meet with President Giorgi Margvelashvili and Parliamentary Speaker irakli Kobakhidze.

Tomorrow Skvernelis will visit the village of Odzisi at the occupation line in the country’s east and a temporary settlement for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Prezeti.

Skvernelis will further lay a wreath to the national memorial of heroes who have fallen for Georgia’s unity and independence.

Lithuanian Prime Minister will leave Georgia on January 30.
