Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze has expressed his readiness to cooperate with any public or political group that have ‘constructive views’ and ideas about solving issues faced by the country today.

Georgia is currently facing challenges which should be addressed to the interests of every political party, PM Bakhtadze said at the extraordinary session of the parliament which will decide whether or not to approve the new government programme and cabinet.

The challenges he named included: the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity, its Euro-Atlantic integration, poverty reduction and fundamental reform of the education system.

"We will definitely build a modern, European state and in doing so create the possibility of peaceful coexistence with our Abkhaz and Ossetian fellow citizens,” PM Bakhtadze said.

The new potential cabinet consists of 10 ministers and one state minister after PM Bakhtadze carried out structural changes and reduced the number of ministries and state ministers’ offices from 14 to 11. He has also named three newcomers for the positions of minister of economy, finance and education.
