Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze says his recent visit to Washington D.C. is yet more proof that Georgia is ready to deepen its strategic partnership with the United States.
Janelidze said he discussed bilateral cooperation in security and trade-economic direction with US senators, congressmen and other representatives of the US government.
Meeting with US legislators Janelidze focused on recent developments in the region, as well as on the security situation in Georgia’s occupied territories and Russia’s illegal activities in the area.
We will do our best to make sure that Georgia’s security and the security of the region as well as trade-economic cooperation with the US will further develop”, Janelidze said summarising his visit.
Janelidze said Georgia is on the new US administration’s agenda and its interests will be considered in the region.
