Georgian and Latvian Defence Ministers met in Tbilisi today to discuss military issues, with a focus on 'total defence'.
The total defence conception refers to the strengthening of Georgia’s self-defence capabilities.
Georgia’s Defence Minister Levan Izoria and his Latvian counterpart Raimonds Bergmanis stressed the importance of more active, bilateral relations and spoke about future cooperation in military education.
The Latvian official reiterated his country’s support for Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration and stressed "Georgia’s integration into NATO is important for the whole region.”
The meeting was held within Georgia’s Defence and Security 11th Conference.
