Georgian Defence Forces chief, Latvian National Guard commander discuss cooperation

Cooperation between Georgian and Latvian defence structures was discussed on Thursday in a meeting between major general Giorgi Matiashvili, the chief of the Georgian Defence Forces and brigadier general Egils Leščinskis, the commander of the Latvian National Guard.

The Georgian defence ministry said the meeting had highlighted experiences of the two countries in developing total defence capabilities and the role of national guard structures.

Matiashvili and Leščinskis also discussed measures of the plan of bilateral military cooperation, as well as partnership in military education.
