Internationally celebrated music producer Nicolas Jaar will perform in Tbilisi for a show heralding the launch of Decoder, a new electronic music and visual arts festival in Georgia’s capital.
Jaar, a New York-based Chilean artist, will play for the audience at Spacehall, a popular venue hosting music and visual arts performances, film screenings and workshops, on September 21.
The 27-year old is known for his productions including the critically acclaimed debut record Space is Only Noise, praised as an "album to escape in” by The Guardian.

The Chilean-born artist was voted No. 1 Live Act on prestigious online platform Resident Advisor during his global tour for promoting the album.
Jaar’s appearances also include a five-hour live show at MoMA PS1 in New York in 2012, where he sampled newly purchased records for the attending audience.
He has also played as part of Darkside, a performance project teaming Jaar with multi-instrumental artist Dave Harrington.
In 2015 Jaar released Pomegranates, an album representing his version of the musical score for Soviet director Sergei Parajanov’s acclaimed 1969 film The Colour of Pomegranates that starred Georgian actor Sofiko Chiaureli.

Jaar also scored filmmaker Jacques Audiard’s drama Dheepan, which was later awarded the principal prize at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2015.
The New York-based artist is also the owner and founder of the Other People music label.
Jaar’s show will come at Spacehall, which this year hosted performances including by famed techno act Richie Hawtin, German producer Steve Bug and a slew of events featuring local artists.
Following the Chilean artist’s appearance, organisers of the Decoder festival plan to hold monthly events "at varying locations” in Tbilisi.
