Belgian electropop act Oscar and the Wolf will be back in Georgia with their trademark show of dreamy vocals and atmospheric sound in a follow-up to their popular performance in capital Tbilisi last year.

Known for the stage presence of the lead Max Colombie and a multi-genre fusion of sounds created in live performances, the band will entertain audiences in October, marking exactly a year since their previous introduction to festival-goers in the city.

Tracing their roots back to 2010 but later reformed around Colombie, Oscar and the Wolf became the first live band to perform at the Tomorrowland electronic dance music event in Belgium while also gracing the stages of a wide range of European festivals over the recent years.

Filling large-capacity arenas and halls from Belgium to the United Kingdom, they received the 2016 European Border Breaker Award and released their latest album Infinity in 2017.

They have received plaudits for ”breathy, boyishly camp vocals” (God Is in the TV Zine) and for “alluring mix of ephemeral tones and dynamic beats” (Culture Trip) in their recordings and live gigs, with their breakthrough from local scene earning the band a title of the “hottest Belgium pop export of the last years” (Messed!Up Magazine).

Once familiar with Oscar and the Wolf’s recipe, you know that the first electronic grooves of every song are waiting on his deliciously filtered drawl to make them complete” — Culture Trip

Beside their stadium-filling festival sound the band has also come to be recognised for studio adaptations, like their cover version of the universally popular Back to Black by Amy Winehouse, turned into an original soundtrack for the 2015 drama Black.

Colombie and his supporting act will be brought to music enthusiasts in Georgia by MONUMENT Events, a series presenting electronic music artists in live performances.

Founder Giorgi Kvashilava told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday his team expected a “true musical celebration” with the show, scheduled to coincide with the first anniversary of the series founding.

The Belgian live act will bring their performing talent to an unconfirmed venue on October 12.
