Davos 2016: Argentina wants to intensify relations with Georgia

Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikheil Janelidze has today sat down with his Argentinian counterpart Susana Malcorra within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. 

Intensifying bilateral relations in the political and economic spheres were major topics of the meeting. 

Georgia and Argentina enjoyed friendly relations however Malcorra expressed her wish for the two nations to forge closer ties in the future.

She also said Georgia and Argentina could share their experiences in a number of directions to mutually benefit the other nation. 

In return the Georgian official congratulated Malcorra on her recent appointment as Argentina’s Foreign Minister and he wished her and the Argentinian government success. 

For the last several years, Georgia has become increasingly active in the South American region, manifested by opening two embassies in the region -in Brazil and Argentina.
