Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov on Wednesday highlighted the significance of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s first official visit to the country and emphasised its potential to open “new prospects” for cooperation.
"Your first visit to Kazakhstan is an important event that offers new opportunities for our bilateral cooperation”, Bektenov told the visiting official.
Our countries share many common interests, and we greatly appreciate your personal efforts in strengthening the Kazakhstan-Georgia partnership”, the Kazakh PM noted, adding the two countries had developed into “not only friendly nations but also reliable political and economic partners” for one another.
“Georgia is one of Kazakhstan’s key economic partners. In this regard, we see positive trends in investment cooperation. Kazakh entrepreneurs have invested approximately $620 million in Georgia’s economy. Our unwavering commitment is to further strengthen our investment partnership and improve conditions for businesses”, he continued.
Bektenov further stressed that his Government was “firmly committed” to expanding regional connectivity and “systematically improving” the necessary infrastructure and conditions.
He also emphasised his team recognised Georgia’s “important role” in the process, and highlighted the significance of joint efforts in enhancing transportation and logistics networks in the region.
