Georgian FM, Armenian Ambassador discuss “traditionally friendly” relations

Maka Botchorishvili, the Georgian Foreign Minister, and Ashot Smbatyan, the Armenian Ambassador to the country, on Friday discussed “traditionally friendly” relations and cooperation between the countries, the Ministry said.

The parties also reviewed the “close strategic partnership” and the “positive dynamics of the exchange of high-level visits” between Georgia and Armenia.

The Ministry noted the sides had also touched on the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between Georgia and Armenia scheduled for next week, stressing it was “a good opportunity to outline new areas of cooperation”.

At the meeting, the officials highlighted the Georgian Foreign Minister’s planned visit to Armenia next week.

Botchorishvili and Smbatyan pledged to continue “close cooperation” to further deepen the existing relations.
