The President of Iceland Guðni Jóhannesson on Thursday highlighted his “memorable” visit to Georgia and extended his gratitude to the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for “excellent” discussion and hospitality.
“It has been a pleasure to get to know Georgia and see all the future potential in two countries' cooperation, not least in the field of renewable energy”, Jóhannesson said.

Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili and Guðni Jóhannesson, the President of Iceland, on Thursday visited the Akhalkalaki hydropower plant, a joint project of Georgian and Icelandic companies that came into operation in 2022 in Georgia’s south.
Guðni Jóhannesson, the President of Iceland, on Wednesday visited the central Georgian village of Odzisi to observe the administrative line separating the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region from the rest of the country.
Relations between Iceland and Georgia and prospects of future cooperation were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Guðni Jóhansson, the President of Iceland.
Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and a visiting Danish parliamentary delegation on Tuesday discussed development of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats between the countries.
