Mikheil Khidureli, the Director of Enterprise Georgia, the state agency promoting entrepreneurship, investment and exports, on Monday highlighted the country's investment attractiveness and potential at the Georgian Investment Forum, organised by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Georgian Embassy in the United Kingdom.
Khidureli emphasised the “new investment opportunities” created by the country’s integration into the European Union, and noted the importance of having “specific activities” such as meetings with investors and raising awareness of Georgia’s investment potential "in such large markets as the UK”.
The UK is one of the top investors in Georgia - about $4 billion has been invested so far. We are confident such activities will help make these statistics even more positive”, he said.
The state agency said beside the “general investment environment” of the country, the Forum also discussed investment sectors including energy, industry, logistics and hospitality.
Hosted in London, the Forum featured 100 investors from the UK as well as businesses and government officials.
