Sheraz Gasri, the French Ambassador to Georgia, on Friday said the meetings held in Brussels, as part of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s first foreign visit, were “very important”, expressing hope to deliver “very good news” to France on Georgia’s progress in implementing relevant reforms.

The Ambassador noted she was “impressed” by the statements made by Kobakhidze before his visit to Brussels, where he had talked about his Government’s plan to “spare no effort” to move forward on the path of European integration.

It is clear that the meetings held in Brussels with the representatives of the European Union and NATO were very important. Now it is the time to make these statements a reality”, Gasri emphasised.

The newly approved Georgian PM held meetings in Brussels this week with the EU and NATO officials, discussing the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration. The Head of the Government pledged to get Georgia “much closer” to NATO and “do everything” to move the country “to a new stage” of European integration - opening accession talks with the bloc.
