Relations between Georgia and China in politics and trade were discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri and Zhou Qian, the Chinese Ambassador to the country.
The Ministry said the meeting highlighted relations established following the signing of strategic partnership between the two countries last year, with the parties also noting the importance of strengthening cooperation in law enforcement.
Gomelauri extended his gratitude to the Ambassador for China's “firm support” for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and for his contribution to the development of relations between the two countries.
On his part, Qian congratulated Gomelauri on his appointment as Vice Prime Minister of Georgia.
