Georgian, Azerbaijani FMs discuss strategic partnership at OSCE Ministerial meeting

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili and her Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov on Thursday discussed the “friendly relations”, “close” strategic partnership and the main directions of bilateral relations between the two countries, the Georgian foreign office said. 

At the meeting held on the sidelines of the 31st session of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe Ministerial Council in Malta, the top diplomats stressed “the need to maintain dynamics of high-level visits” between Georgia and Azerbaijan, highlighting the “successful cooperation” between the countries.

The meeting also focused on the ongoing processes in the South Caucasus region and the importance of promoting peace and stability in this regard, with the sides emphasising “the necessity of the involvement of Georgia and Azerbaijan in projects of strategic importance”.

Botchorishvili thanked Bayramov for Azerbaijan’s “unwavering support” of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
