Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Thursday discussed bilateral cooperation, Georgia’s October general elections and the country’s European Union integration plans with Juraj Blanár, her Slovak counterpart, on the sidelines of the 31st session of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe Ministerial Council in Malta.

The two leaders highlighted “strong bilateral relations” between their countries and discussed future cooperation, the Georgian foreign office said.

Botchorishvili emphasised her Government’s “commitment” to European integration, updating Blanár on the “progress” and next steps for the process.

In response, the Slovak official expressed his Government's “unwavering support” for Georgia’s EU aspirations and pledged “continued assistance” in this process, the Georgian Ministry press office said.

The Ministers also addressed Georgia’s parliamentary elections, with Botchorishvili sharing initial assessments from international observation missions and thanked Blanár for Slovakia's “steadfast support” of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The exchange also focused on the importance of high-level visits and closer intergovernmental ties, alongside cooperation within international organisations, including the OSCE.
