Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday sent his condolences to the family and relatives of Giorgi Kharchilava, Mayor of western Georgia’s Tsalenjikha municipality, who passed away at the age of 54.

“On behalf of the Government of Georgia, I express sorrow over the death of the Mayor of Tsalenjikha Municipality, Giorgi Kharchilava”, the PM said.

Kharchilava was elected as the only opposition Mayor in the 2021 municipal elections.
