Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday announced the Government had made a decision to continue the systemic land registration programme, allowing citizens to register their land plots free of charge, until the end of 2025.

In his comments during a Government meeting, Kobakhidze highlighted the significance of the initiative, noting there were citizens who had not yet managed to register their plots.

As you know, under this reform, 1.5 million plots of land have been measured and one million have been registered. Consequently, more than a million people have become [legal] owners. Around 3,500 to 4,000 plots of land have been measured and registered daily”, the PM said.

Kobakhidze emphasised the importance of ensuring “all citizens” had the opportunity to secure their land rights.
