A new five-star Pullman hotel and residences are set to be constructed in Tsikhisdziri resort on the Black Sea coast in Georgia’s Adjara region with an $80 million investment, as announced by the country’s Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili during the capsule placing ceremony on Tuesday.

The project is expected to employ over 500 individuals during the construction phase, with an additional 250 permanent jobs following its completion in 2028.

During the ceremony, Davitashvili underscored the importance of “high-standard” projects in shaping the future of tourist infrastructure in the country.

He emphasised the Government’s commitment to realising “ambitious plans” for tourism growth by 2028 and highlighted the “significance” of attracting guests with higher purchasing power through the development of “quality” infrastructure.

It is important for us to note that the projects implemented in recent years have been of a high standard. This is how we envision the development of tourism infrastructure in the coming years”, he said.

When we talk about an ambitious plan for the growth of tourism in Georgia by 2028, and when we refer to new bed funds, we mean that there will be high-quality infrastructure in place to attract visitors with higher purchasing power to the country”, he said.

The plans presented by the Prime Minister [Irakli Kobakhidze] during the election programme [presentation last week] are not just empty promises, but are supported by projects such as the Pullman project”, the Minister added.

Davitashvili said further development of tourism in the country relied on the addition of new hotel complexes and “high-quality” tourist infrastructure.

He also announced the launch of a transport project aimed at restoring sea transportation of passengers in the region and unveiled plans for a marina and yacht club near the hotel complex.
