Employees of the Border Police of the Georgian Interior Ministry detained four foreign citizens for illegal group crossing of the country’s state border, the Ministry said on Saturday.

The investigation found that the four individuals had bypassed passport control in Georgia’s west at the Sarpi border customs checkpoint with Turkey by hiding in a truck they were driving, the body said. 

The crime is punishable by up to five years of imprisonment.
